Murphy Monroe, MSNPM
Murphy has hired and led many large, high-caliber teams that have broken sales records, driven profits, and pioneered emerging technologies. He possesses subject matter expertise in enrollment management, board relations, nonprofit management, and disability justice. Murphy is a Commissioner for the City of Evanston, leading the city's ADA compliance and disability access work. He is currently the executive director of an award-winning professional circus school and theater company that teaches over a thousand students yearly and produces circus theater nationwide.
Murphy led a large multi-state sales team as General Manager and Vice President of Operations for Helix Education, an ed-tech company that developed cutting-edge enrollment software and managed the enrollment and brand positioning for many major colleges and universities before its successful sale.
Before Helix, Murphy was the assistant vice president of enrollment management and executive director of admissions for Columbia College Chicago for over a decade. At Columbia, Murphy and his team were at the center of transforming a small local liberal arts college into the largest private arts college in the country. Murphy remains a sought-after consultant in the enrollment management and ed-tech industries.
Murphy is a pacifist and has served on the board of many nonprofits, including Young Chicago Authors, The National Scholarship Fund, the Stephen Hoenig Foundation, and City as a High School charter school.
His special interests are doughnuts, float tanks, and the Grateful Dead.
